Common Workflow: Combining Receipts & Monthly Statements
Combine monthly invoices, expense receipts, or medical bills into a single document. Drag files or use the Up/Down keyboard buttons to arrange documents in chronological sequence. The engine copies PDF page content/resources into the output without rasterizing pages; users with complex interactive documents should still verify the resulting file.
Common Workflow: Separating Multi-Page Scans & Contracts
When physical document scanners bundle multi-party contracts or multiple purchase orders into a single large PDF, use Split Mode. Choose "Split every page" to isolate individual standalone invoices, or select "Group every N pages" (such as 2 or 3 pages) to divide bilateral lease agreements into separate, clean files.
Encrypted & Password-Protected PDF Rejection
This tool strictly rejects encrypted or password-protected PDF files with a clear notification. Password-protected documents cannot be unlocked client-side without decrypting keys or password prompts. To process a protected PDF, remove encryption using your original authoring application or PDF viewer before loading.
Page-Copy Architecture vs. Document Catalog Structures
Document operations use PDF page copying rather than rasterization. This carries page-level content/resources into the new PDF in normal cases, including mixed page sizes and rotations. Document-level structures and interactivity—such as AcroForms, outlines/bookmarks, JavaScript actions, attachments, signatures, and metadata—are not guaranteed to carry over correctly, so verify the output when those features matter.
Mixed Page Sizes & Orientations
The page-copy workflow is designed to keep each copied page’s own dimensions and rotation instead of normalizing all pages to one size, so portrait and landscape pages can coexist in the output. Complex PDFs can use additional page boxes or document-level structures, so verify important mixed-format outputs.
Browser JavaScript Engine & Application Memory Guardrails
Processing executes in client-side JavaScript using @pdfme/pdf-lib. To reduce the risk of excessive browser memory use, EveryTools applies conservative application guardrails: up to 20 merge files and a maximum of 75 MiB total input. These are application limits rather than universal browser capabilities; low-memory devices may fail sooner.
Zero-Upload Document Privacy Guarantee
PDF byte parsing, page copying, and document assembly for this tool occur in local browser memory. The workflow makes no PDF payload upload request; platform analytics records only fixed UI action identifiers and does not include file names, page contents, or PDF bytes.
Frequently Asked Questions: Quality & Security
Does merging PDFs reduce visual quality? The workflow copies PDF pages without rasterizing them, so it does not intentionally introduce image-style downsampling or lossy recompression. Complex PDFs can contain document-level features that are not guaranteed to survive page copying, so verify important outputs. Is it safe for confidential legal documents? PDF payload bytes are processed locally and are not uploaded by this workflow; analytics receives only fixed interface event identifiers. Users should still follow their organization’s device, browser, and document-handling policies.
